Mahabir Steel Group takes pride in being known as one of the largest authorized distributors of JSW Steel in West Bengal. At Mahabir Steel we have dedicated ourselves to perfection in the distributorship of TMT, Wire Rods, Asbestos sheets, Galvanized products like corrugated, plain, and colour coated sheets.
Sri Puranmal Jain founded and managed Mahabir Steel Supply Company in the year 1965. We initially started the wholesale business with G.P. and G.C. sheets as our main selling products. Over the years, as our business grew and we held a significant recognition amongst our competitors and the companies we worked with. Slowly, but steadily, we concentrated on increasing our reach to different parts of the state of West Bengal and understood the demand of the customers while diversifying to various construction materials like TMT Bars, Wire Rods, and Coils.
Initially we were affiliated with companies like Indian Iron, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Jindal India, JSW, etc., but as time continued, we took important decisions where we saw growth, and at the current moment we work primarily with JSW Steel Limited, as their authorized distributors in West Bengal, while we are also affiliated with Tata BSL Ltd, RashtriyaIspat Nigam Ltd, UAL Bengal Ltd., and Bhushan Power & Steel.
We hit a major milestone in year 2003, when the company’s successors Raj Kumar Jain and Ajit Kumar Jain (sons of Puranmal Jain) completely devoted their time to the cause and we created another company, Mahabir Steel Enterprise Pvt. Ltd., which managed mainly TMT & Wire Rods (a highly lucrative segment).
Since then, the business has been thriving under the most capable leadership, and in the present time, Mahabir Steel Group own/rent four go-downs fully equipped with lifting and loading cranes. On an average, we sell approximately 20,000 metric tonne of materials per year, and the future seems ever bright.
