Role Description

We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Job Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Performing testing, documentation, and mentoring/grooming/coaching less technical staff where applicable
• Work with Architects, Project Managers, and other Developers to estimate the level of effort necessary to implement assigned work packages.

Skills

• Minimum 2-4 Years of experience and should have skills and knowledge listed below.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Android SDK, Oops concepts, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Working experience with RESTful APIs and JSON to connect back-end services.
• Good understanding of Android UI design guidelines (Material Design Guidelines) and Google Play Store Guidelines.
• Experience with Audio/Video Streaming.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Experience in Gradle.
• Experience in developing applications with complex and rich UI and custom controls for performance and efficiency.
• Good Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Good debugging skills, profiling and unit testing.
• Have published at least two Android app on Google Play.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Bitbucket
• Up to date with Android changes, new features and requirements
